Mass vs Weight
Mass:
Amount of matter in an object. Measured in kg, g, lbs. Constant everywhere.
Weight:
Force exerted by gravity on mass. Measured in Newtons (N). Weight = mass × gravity.
Examples:
- On Moon: same mass, 1/6 the weight
- In space: same mass, zero weight
- On Jupiter: same mass, 2.4x the weight
